Lee J. Seidler

Lee J. Seidler, PhD resides on Sanibel Island, Florida. He received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from Columbia University. Dr. Seidler is a certified public accountant and previously worked as an auditor at Price Waterhouse & Co. for five years in New York and Paris. Dr. Seidler taught accounting, auditing and financial reporting at New York University’s Graduate School of Business Administration for 20 years. Dr. Seidler also has taught at Columbia University and at universities in Turkey, Brazil and Hungary. In addition, Dr. Seidler was a General Partner and Senior Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co., where he served as director of the firm’s 55 person audit staff for two years. Dr. Seidler has authored or co-authored six books on accounting and taxation and frequently serves as an expert witness in accounting and finance matters. He also has testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking regarding regulation of the accounting profession and consulted with its staff on the drafting of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act that produced the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. He is an active investor and served on the boards of Ballantyne of Omaha, Inc., Synthetic Industries, Inc., Players International, Inc., Sound Technologies, Inc., SafeCard Services, Inc., The Shubert Organization, The Shubert Foundation and Eastbank, N.A. Dr. Seidler chaired the audit committee of all of these boards. He is also Chairman of the Board of The Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York.
