NEW NEIGHBORHOOD SIGN REVEAL & FINAL HOME DEDICATION IN FINEMARK VILLAGE
FORT MYERS, FL (July 18, 2018) – Habitat for Humanity of Lee & Hendry Counties unveiled the new FineMark Village neighborhood sign and celebrated the final home dedication in FineMark Village, a Habitat neighborhood consisting of eleven new homes on July 13, 2018.
The event began with the NEW FineMark Village neighborhood sign unveiling and was followed with the home dedication at 15271 Codie Street.
In 2015, Habitat acquired eleven (11) home site parcels on Gladiolus; FineMark National Bank & Trust invested $250,000 to become the Neighborhood Sponsor allowing construction to begin on FineMark Village.
Those in attendance on Friday, July 13 were local community leaders, including Joe Catti, Jessica Catti, Harlan Parrish, Cassandra Pulice and Robert Arnall from FineMark National Bank & Trust, Habitat’s Board Chairman Mitch Hutchcraft, local government officials, Habitat board members, and residents from the Harlem Heights community.
Roger Brownell, an 18-year member of the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity, kicked off the dedication of the capstone home in the Harlem Heights community. He shared, “I particularly like the house dedications because there is nothing better than to see the smiles and the happy tears by the new homeowner and especially the children,”
Dominick Izzo, Habitat’s Director of Construction, recognized, Jim Gibbons, Michael Webber, and Bob Middleton, the Habitat “Can Do Crew”, for their volunteer efforts on the FineMark Village project in Harlem Heights.
“We build these houses like they were our own,” Jim Gibbons added.
Ana Villacis, Habitat Homeownership Advisor, introduced homeowner Gloria, along with other Habitat homeowners who joined in support.
Ana explained, “With this home closing today, there are thirty-four (34) kids in this community that have a safe healthy place to call their home and have somewhere to do their homework, somewhere they know they can come home, where they’re going to have food, where they’re going to have shelter, and they’re not going to have to move, and so they can concentrate on important things like going to school.”
