- 24 Mini pre-made tart shells or phyllo cups
- 8 oz grated gruyere cheese
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lb bacon finely chopped
- 2 large onions thinly sliced
- 1/4 balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Blend gruyere and cream cheese in a food processor until smooth. Set aside.
Place a large Saute pan over medium heat and add olive oil. Saute bacon and onions together until softened. Reduce heat to low and continue cooking until Carmelized, about 20-30 minutes. Add the balsamic and sugar and cook until thickened and jam consistency. Season with salt and pepper.
Pipe cheese mixture into tart shells and top with jam.
